Retractable Screen Door Home Depot

ODL 36 in

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by veeco118 no experience necessary First of all, the packaging is totally misleading. It says its a 30 minute install job. The only part that took 30 min. was driving to HD, picking out the one i wanted and bringing it back home. Then it took some time to remove the plastic packaging. Oh, and then it took a few minutes to remove the old screen door. Installing the new screen door maybe took 5 min to do. The other 25 min was spent in amazement in just how easy it was to install and opening a beer. It does take up a few inches in you overall doorway width. But if you really need to move something out of the door that is too wide it wouldnt be a big deal to remove the screen door and replace it again in less time than it took you to install it in the first place. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Del600 Very Good Product, Easy Installation After reading all the reviews on here I bit the bullet and bought the ODL Brisa Retractable Screen Door. I was a bit apprehensive on the ease of installation and was concerned about the "blowing" out of the screen during windy times or the dog pushing it out. I followed the directions and had the screen installed in 23 minutes, I am a semi-handy guy (I bought my mom one and installed hers in 14 minutes). Once you read the instructions and get the idea of what this is supposed to look like install is a breeze, keep in mind it fits a 32"-36" door. (I read one review from a guy with a 30" door and he had to cut it... well it says on the package 32"-36" and per the instruction manual, if smaller, cuts would need to be made) We installed our door going from the house to the garage, and the best thing about it is when I don't need it, the screen is out of the way, no more struggling with kids or groceries. I noticed the breeze blowing the screen out, at first I was concerned but realize the design is such that you retract it and re-deploy it and it resets itself... so not an issue for me, and bugs don't fly "upwind". I have a large dog, English Mastiff, and after one time of seeing the "lines" in the screen he has learned the screen is there, no it won't stop him if a squirrel or chipmunk runs by the garage, but I can show you a pile of bent up normal slider screen doors from him... so I am happy with this. I will be replacing all 3 of my slider screen doors this spring with the retractable screen doors from ODL. I am sold, and my mom likes hers too! AND its made in Michigan!!! NICE! January 7, 2016

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by PflugerJL Lives up to the description. A couple of notes regarding HD. The online model number and the in store model number did not match so I was a little concerned that I was purchasing the wrong size/dimensions but suspected I could return it with ease if necessary. The associate did his best to help me confirm it was the right product but no fault of his that the database between on-line and the actual product in-store is somehow different. The packaging also didn't provide the size (i.e. 36 in. x 80 in.) which should be a simple fix for ODL that would clear up any confusion. The printed installation instructions are a bit general and somewhat lacking so I strongly recommend watching one or two of the YouTube videos to supplement. It was fairly easy as described. 30 minutes is a fair estimate. It's helpful to have a second set of hands to hold the assembled screen door in place while drilling that first screw. All in all it lived up to all aspects of the description and satisfied my expectations for what I intended and expected. April 3, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by HJfoco High Quality, Easy Install I was looking for a way to keep the back door of our garage open to get a breeze, without letting bugs in. I didn't want a regular screen or storm door. I decided to try one of these. The install was very quick and easy. It took me about 20 minutes, including caulking around the edges and top. Seems to be high quality. When put together, before it went against my brickmoulding - it felt sturdy and solid. Once I screwed it to the trim and threshold, it really seems solid. I would recommend this retractable screen door without hesitation. If it holds up well, I'm going to buy the one for a sliding door as well as another one for a walk-out basement door. They are a bit pricey, but seemingly worth it. July 3, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bebe perfect for non-square jamb and out of plain door frame Older home exterior swing -in front door 35 x 78 opening - completely out of plane along with a terrible trim installation. Very poor carpentry unless they were going for the "Vortex House of Horrors" looks - Rebuilding and trimming out this area will eventually be done- but this season just needed a screen door- Once viewing videos on the ODL website for tips, the door took less than a 1/2 hour to hang- redoing the threshold took about a 1/2 hour, too. I used the model for a sliding patio door insert- the large gasket on the right-hand side allowed a good seal to the casing- tricked the eye a bit to create what appears to be a square opening once installed. Used white strip of foam to seal the upper gap July 5, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BDIBilly Vastly Improved Product is much improved over former model, which I was replacing because the screen was torn in 2 places (worn out?). Latch system vastly better and installation was a snap. February 24, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Jaymyn 30 mins.for a slacker I did this in 22 minutes including taking time to grab a beer. It is very sturdy and works great. No for pets or kids as the screen will come off. August 6, 2015
