Excellent doors; things you should know

First, I'll start with the positive: These doors are absolutely fantastic. They transformed the appearance of our living room. The coat closet went from eyesore to W Hotel. We love these doors. Now the stuff you should know about installing them (I wish someone would have told me this before I started): The instructions are IKEA-style, meaning all drawings and no words. Frankly, I would have appreciated some words. Second, you'll have to screw the roller mechanism into the door. The catch is... read more the manufacturer did not make pilot holes, so you'll have to carefully drill them. The screws it comes with are really cheap, too. I broke two of them trying to screw them into the door. I recommend either screwing them in delicately, or buying better screws. Once all that is out of the way, they go up pretty easily. Plan for a couple of hours of work, more if you're demoing some old doors and need to do some drywall repairs. I hope this helps!

Beautiful Addition to my bedroom

I have had my eye on these doors for over a year. I finally ordered them after we had new flooring installed. They are beautiful doors! The doors do have a comteporary feel but are elegant as well. No the doors are not a bright white but they still blend seemlessly in my bedroom against my tan walls and white woodwork. I am ordering another set for our other bedroom as soon as I finish writing this review.

Nice, but do not paint

These are a nice pair of doors, but we did not know that they are not paintable. Regular enamel did not stick, so we had to sand that off. Ended up painting them with many coats of appliance paint so they would match our white trim. The frosted glass is opaque enough for privacy in our walk in closet and it brightens up the closet too.

Very pleased with our purchase.

We actually bought three sets, with two being used for a foyer closet and one for a linen closet. We didn't install it ourselves, as we were having a good bit of remodeling done. Our contractors, however, didn't report any difficulties with installation. At present we're using the doors without the guides, as the white plastic guides provided would detract from the overall look of the doors. The doors, which glide smoothly, seem heavy enough not to need the guides.

ok.

NIce.wood looks a little fake, not quite the color I thought it would be. Confused that there is no handle. Just installed it over the weekend, and not sure what to do about the handle, or lack of. I dont know if I can hollow it to preset one (as bypass doors usually have), and a cabinet pull will need a longer screw and limits opening to one side. Odd.

Nice product for the money, very sturdy

I never write reviews but I have to say these are nicer than expected. They are heavy MDF and feel very solid. I had to cut about 1.5" off each side for my install but doubtful most people will need to do this. Once installed they look great. I'm using them as office doors, not closet, so you can see the hardware from the inside but from the outside, it's very clean.
