Chamberlain Universal Mini Garage Door Remote-MC100-6

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by by UTbadger Works Great. I got this because I wanted a smaller remote for carrying with me on my motorcycle. As you can see from the pic, its nice and small and can easily fit in your pocket or be attached on a keychain. The setup instructions were very clear and the process was simple and fast. Note: you may need a step ladder to reach the back of your garage door opener depending on how high it is. There are 2 buttons on it so you can actually set it up for 2 different doors if you want. I definitely recommend this if you want a smaller remote. December 8, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by KatieKat Hold the Remote Closer to Learn button If you are having problems programming I have a garage door opener that is older than the hills and this universal remote worked for me. Your first question is probably, "will it work for mine?" 1. First check the list of compatible manufacturers. 2. The instructions say it only works with models that have photoelectric sensors. This sounds fancy, but really it is just the two boxes with a red and green light located towards the bottom of your garage door. If you have those or their equivalent, you are okay. 3. You must have a "Learn button" on your garage mechanism. This is the one I was most concerned about, but even my garage dinosaur had such a button so you probably do too. The learn button is located under the cover plate usually next to the light bulb and above the antenna wire that hangs down. It should be the only button that is there. If you press it, a light will blink letting you know that it works. If you verify those three things, you should definitely buy this opener! Its small size is super convenient for keeping in your pocket, on your keys, or in your purse. - Another important note: I had some problems in getting the new remote programmed. I was standing on a ladder hitting the learn button while my helper person was on the ground with the remote. It was simply not working for us and we were getting frustrated. When my helper person quit helping, I then went about it alone and it magically worked the first time I tried. Upon further investigation I learned that initially we had the remote too far away from the learn button. ***I needed to hold the remote up close to the learn button while programming. Also please note that you should only briefly press this learn button. I held it down for a long time and inadvertently de-programmed all of my other remotes. I didn't know holding it down would clear all the prior programming. If you follow my instructions, you should have your new remote programmed within a few minutes. December 7, 2015
